it's okay for you to say
that it was not for you
but you don't get to judge
what other people need
normal people don't see
that's what equal means

if you never felt it
you don't understand

to try to get the upper hand

picket fence house?
I been sleeping on it
plus I don't really comprehend
why you even want it
keepin' with the Jones'
gotta pay the mortgage
bought a brand new car
but you can't afford it
fairy tale life?
what does that mean?
that's the living definition
of a pipe dream
then you try to claim
you keepin' marriage sacred
while divorce rates skyrocket
people face it

everybody yes, normal people no
everybody can, normal people don't

normal is what normal people think
normal lives in the water normal people drink
it's a parasite, get it right
get an identity of your own, get a life
maybe I've just become so obsessive
maybe there's a line, I've overstepped it
maybe your acceptance is just reflexive
that's the only excuse that you're left with
